A Message from Nick Lasky
Hey family,
Between the fires in LA and the water crisis in Richmond, VA it feels like the elements are speaking loud and clear—fire, water, earth, air—they’re all stirred up and much is out of balance.
It’s been a lot to process, and having spent a lot of time in LA, my heart and prayers and deeply with the community there. So I thought we’d take a step back and look at what’s happening in the cosmos to give some perspective.
Pluto-Mars Opposition: The Pressure Cooker
Let’s talk Pluto and Mars.
Pluto’s all about deep transformation—it’s like a volcano bubbling under the surface. Mars, on the other hand, is pure fire and action.
Right now, they’re in opposition, creating this intense push-pull energy. It’s the kind of vibe where pressure builds, things feel uncomfortable, but something transformative is brewing.
For many of us, this might feel like a cosmic detox. It’s tough, but it’s also an opportunity to burn away what’s no longer serving us so we can step into something new.
They have been tightly locked in since the end of December.
Mars Retrograde in Cancer: Water, Homes, and Security
Here’s where it gets wild. As soon as Mars retrograded back into Cancer (a water sign that rules home, safety, and emotional security), these big crises started unfolding—the fires in LA on Tuesday and the water issues in Richmond on Monday.
Cancer’s energy is all about home, both literally and emotionally, and Mars retrograde here can stir up challenges related to safety, security, and grounding.
It’s heavy, but it’s also asking us to reflect on what “home” really means and how we create a sense of stability in uncertain times. It asks us to reassess.
Mars will be hanging out in Cancer for a while, so think back to earlier this fall (October 5th-November 4th) when it was here before. What themes were popping up for you then? Those reflections could give you some clarity now. They will be revisited.
North Node at 0° Aries: Time to Lead
Meanwhile, the North Node—the point that guides humanity’s evolution—for the last week was at 0° Aries, a big deal in astrology. It is considered a world point (it's the spring equinox point) and when things activate it they can have global impact. Aries is all about fresh starts, bold moves, and stepping into leadership.
This is a call for all of us to take action in our own lives. What do you need to let go of? What’s that spark of something new you’ve been waiting to follow? Where must you be a maverick or pioneer and lead the way into something new.
The Nodes have now shifted to the Pisces/Virgo axis.. more to come on that soon!
How We Move Forward: Together
With everything going on, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But remember: the best resource we have is each other.
Lean into love, community, support, and prayer. Today's Cancer Full Moon is a great time to focus on healing and really integrating and process big emotions. It is a chance to FEEL DEEPLY and move your body to keep the waters flowing.
If you want to help, here are some ways to get involved.
I also shared a song on Instagram recently that speaks to the power of community. You can check it out here.
